Rebrand of an existing company with a series of three aspects. For this project I created a logo, business card and packaging. The concept behind the logo is based off the MAGFORMERS toy shapes, color, and magnetic qualities. This was carried through the logo by the use of color and the suggestion of magnetic pull between the shapes. The logo design was then placed on the two other designs.
The business card has a simple and minimalistic design. The logo was placed on the front with the MAGFORMERS name above. On the back just the logo was placed to show its many uses.
The idea behind the packaging design was toys you could play with "on the go". With the small size of the package, it makes the ideal toy for kids to bring along with them. Also with the smaller package there are just enough pieces to create magnetic fun.
These materials were designed for the AIGA Detroit student portfolio review. A collaboration between faculty advisor and art director Andrew Maniotes and students Drake Carr and Kaila Keller which resulted in the branding and design of all materials for the event. The "Momentum" type and concept was inspired by Rube Goldberg comics where a complicated machine is created. As the copywriting stated: "Your design education gave you the professional schematics, yet the job search appears to be a complex series of daunting tasks meant to accomplish the simple goal of finding employment. Let AIGA Detroit help you build the portfolio that will launch your career." The poster folded to fit into the envelope, which contained informational letter sized pieces about the event.
